Goldstone's Eco Committee
We have a lively and active child led ECO COMMITTEE at the school who are responsible for running lots of campaigns and projects.
So far this year we have made signs for the new wildflower and bulb area at the front of the school, made a recycling bin for the milk bottles the children have in ks1 and worked on a campaign for saving water across the school and community.

Eco Committee focus on 'food'
This term we are exploring the topic of food. The eco committee have been helping out with assemblies in Key Stage 1, teaching the children about where food comes from, how far it has travelled and how this impacts on carbon emissions.
When discussing the topic of food, the eco committee mentioned lots of food in lunch boxes comes in single use plastic wrappers. To solve this issue they have been making reusable sandwich wraps to sell at the next Squeaky Green shop. The plan is to trial them, and if they are a success, to make more.
