Children can join Goldstone Primary at the age of 4+, the September after their 4th birthday.

We have 22 classes, 3 in each year group from YR1-YR6 apart from our current YR4 which has 4 classes.

Admission Limit:

Foundation Stage - Year Reception - 90 children

KS1 (Year1 & Year 2) - 180 children

KS2 (Year 3 - Year 6) - 416 children

Total Admission Limit - 686 children

You are welcome to come and look around our school at any time.  If you would like to make an appointment to visit the school, please contact us on 01273 294851. Throughout the Autumn term we arrange group visits for parents of prospective Reception parents, these occur both during the day and evening.  Please contact the office to book a place on one of our group visits.

  • The arrangements for the admission of children to this school at age 4+ are made by the Council. A detailed description of the arrangements is contained in the guidance 'Infant, Junior & Primary School Admissions in Brighton & Hove 2015/2016 which can be found at www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/schooladmissions. A hard copy can be obtained from the School Admissions Section, Children & Young People's Trust, PO BOX 2503, King's House, Grand Avenue, HOVE BN3 2SU (tel:01273 293653).

However, parents/carers may find it helpful to know that, if there are insufficient places available to meet demand, places will be allocated to children in accordance with the following list of priorities:

  • Children in the care of the local authority; or were previously in the care of the local authority;
  • Children with compelling medical or other exceptional reasons for attending the school.
  • Children who in September 2016 will have a brother or sister at the school or at a linked junior school, provided that their home is no more than two miles from the school.
  • Children transferring between a linked infant and junior school.
  • Other children

If it should be necessary to decide between children within any of these priority groups, this will be done by giving the places to those children who live closest to the school.

The following information, reflecting the outcome of the admission arrangements at 4+ for September 2016 may give parents/carers some idea of their chances of obtaining a place for their child at this school in September 2017

These allocations were made using the equal preference system.
